Gate of Tartarus is a single-player Greek-mythology lane-defense game for iOS. You are an archer defending a gate: enemies march down three lanes, and between waves you spend what you have earned on upgrades and runes. The campaign runs 144 waves across three gates — Bronze, Silver, and Gold — guarded by twelve unique bosses.

You don't have to do anything — saving is automatic and on-device. Your high scores in the Hall of Heroes, your settings, and story-seen flags are written to your device's local app storage as you play. There is no save button, no cloud save, and no account.
No. Gate of Tartarus runs completely offline. Every asset is built into the app itself, and the game makes no network requests at all — not for content, not for scores, not for analytics. You can play it on a plane, in a tunnel, or with the device permanently in airplane mode.
No, and there never will be. The game is free and complete as downloaded. There is no advertising, no in-app purchase, no subscription, no currency to buy, and no paywalled content. Every upgrade, rune, gate, and boss is earned by playing.
Unfortunately, no. Because all data is stored locally and nothing is ever uploaded, deleting the app removes its local data permanently. The same applies if you move to a new device or restore from a backup that did not include the app's data — there is no server-side copy to restore from, and no way for us to recover it. If the game has lost progress while still installed, please email us with the details; that would be a bug we want to know about.

Three difficulties are offered at the start of a run, and there is a battle-tempo slider in the settings that changes the pace of combat without changing the challenge. If a specific wave or boss feels broken rather than merely brutal, tell us — that is useful feedback.
